Reunited At Last

Last week I flew to Florida to reunite with 3 amazing girls + Kellen!
We had SUCH A GREAT TIME!!!
It felt like no time had passed between us...we picked up right where we left off in Guyana, only this time we were in sunny, beautiful Destin, FL.
The minute I spotted them at the airport I was rolling with laughter and it didn't stop for 3 whole days.

This is how we began our reunion...
they greeted me at the airport wearing these amazing mustaches and when they were close enough to hug me they slapped one on me.
Let me just tell you, the small airport was full of laughter and many stares.

Heather rented us a condo near the beach, which was nice and we spent our hours laughing & chatting and laughing some more.

We decided to have ourselves a little photo shoot on the beach, it was very fun & funny!
We used a tripod and point and shoot camera, who needs a professional anyways?
Of course we had to get a little silly and sport our mustaches.

We went to dinner at the Back Porch where Kellen works, it was fun to surprise and see him.
We ordered gator kabobs & seafood nachos, they were delicious.

One evening we went to a little free concert at a park
& our last night all together we went out to a piano bar.

The time flew by but in a short amount of time we created even more amazing memories!
I seriously love these girls and I'm so thankful we were able to reunite!!!

Lake Tahoe

I got a call for an interview in Lake Tahoe,
I kinda forgot I applied for the job and I didn't know it was in South Lake Tahoe
{it just said Northern California online}
So I headed to Lake Tahoe last week.
Since it was pretty short notice I decided to drive and luckily enough
my mom and Dan were in Sacramento for the weekend and
on their way back home were staying a night in Reno
so I met them there and we checked out Reno...
We even won a little money!
Nevada is an interesting state.

I made it to South Lake Tahoe and was blown away
by how beautiful it is, especially the lake.
I stayed 2 nights there and I got to explore a little.
I was surprised by how small it actually is.
The weather was perfect and I enjoyed walking around and
sitting near the lake.
I think living there would be pretty awesome.
Pretty different.
But spending time out on the lake would be heavenly.
{I love the water}

The position for the job interview was a Nutrition Educator.
During the interview I used a lot of examples from my work in Peace Corps.
So it was great to see my work and experience in Guyana actually be useful.
I am definitely qualified for the position through my experience
however, they are seeking someone who is bilingual in Spanish.
Who knows, maybe I can still get it or something related to the position.
Either way it was a good opportunity to interview
and I got to see another part of the world {California}
that I hadn't seen before.

Arizona

My mom & I drove to Arizona to spend a few days with family.
We stayed in Prescott to spend time with Grandma & her 4 cats.
We watched movies, went to dinner, talked, and enjoyed the great weather.
I spent a day in Scottsdale at Grammary's.
Although it's a sad time for that side of my family it was good to be there and see everyone.
My cousin Kacie showed me around old town Scottsdale, which was fun & artsy.

I loved this

This art tree is made out of jeans

It was good to see Leon again

Yummy White Russian ice cream

On the way we drove by Lake Mead, it was beautiful

I'm loving all the traveling I've been doing and it's been great spending time with friends and family. Next week I'm headed to California.

Seattle.

I love the movie Sleepless in Seattle.
I'm also loving spending time in Seattle/Washington.
Seattle is such a neat, hip, artsy city.
I love everything being surrounded by water and forest.
It's a bit chilly but beautiful.

Dan is working in Seattle so my mom and I decided to visit.
So far we've...

Had lunch in the space needle, it was so cool
and a great way to see the whole city

Saw the space needle at night

Visited Pike's Place Market

Walked over Deception Pass

Had a nice dinner with Mary, her sister Genna, and her boyfriend

& I tried on Big Foot's hat :)

There's still a lot more to see and do...
