Camp Friends

We had an impromptu Monday night this week and we enjoyed it very much!
We ended up driving to the western part of the island to have dinner with Brad and his fiance Christina, our camp friends.

In 2004 I had the privilege of going with Zach's family for the weekend to Catalina Island to see Zach at Camp Emerald Bay. He spent that summer working at boy scout camp; something he had done for a few summers before I met him.

That summer we wrote numerous letters back and forth
and talked on the phone once a week.
We had only been dating a few months before he left that summer
so I was beyond excited to travel to Catalina Island with his family to see him.

Luckily, I had the opportunity of working at Camp Emerald Bay with Zach in 2007 & 2008.
That experience is one of the best things I have done in my life and I'm so thankful I got to experience that part of Zach's life.

We have lifelong camp friends.
And Brad is definitely one of them.

We were talking about how nice it would be to go back to camp some day.

Brad and his family were staying in Ko Olina, the western side of the island.
We were really excited to see our friends and check out the new part of the island.
Ko Olina is resort community and we were surprised by how nice and uncrowded it is.

We truly had a great night.
We have missed hanging out with good friends.
